2009 Honda City!

Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has started selling the all-new Honda City in Thailand today. It will be sold in Thailand for between 524,000 to 694,000 Thai baht. We don’t have much details on the wheelbase and some other details yet.

The new Honda City is powered by solely by a 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine mated to either a 5-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual It is 4,395mm long, 1,695mm wide and 1,470mm tall, so it is slightly longer (+5mm), slightly wider (+5mm) but not as tall (-25mm) as the previous model. Making it wider and not as high reduces the whole hatchback with a boot tagged on look that the City it replaces had.

Euro Civic Front+ 1st Generation Vios Butt= All New City
Look nicer than it's main competitor, 2nd generation Toyota Vios, but i think that is mainly because Toyota Vios is actually a 3 year-old design (firstly launch in Japan as Toyota Belta in 2005).
However, dashboard looks quite cheap, the actual stuff? hmm....need to wait for the showroom car and see it for myself to give further comment.
The point is, will you choose this over Toyota Vios?

I always heard people saying that Perodua produce better quality cars than Proton, but i don't think that's the case now.

(III)

The Perodua Myvi has received a facelift 3 years after it was launched, at a time which would appropriately be mid-point in its lifecycle. There are updates with the exterior, interior, equipment as well as price, which naturally have been revised higher.

On the exterior you get a new look on the front and the rear, more of the front than the rear actually as the rear only gets a new bumper. The front gets a new bonnet and front bumper with new foglamps but the headlamp remains the same. All 1.3 liter models get UV protection glass which are said to be able to repel 91% of harmful UV rays.

The interior receives the option for a blue Optitron meter panel for the Premium version, a style that was introduced on the Myvi SE. The rest of the Myvi range continues to have the amber Optitron meter, and the white meter is now gone. The meter panel is now of a three-gauge design with the speedo rearranged to the middle instead of previously located on the left. The rev meter has been moved from the right to the left.

The dashboard is now two tone with a separate colour for the lower section. The area where the audio and climate controls are have also been revised. The integrated audio system gains the ability to read MP3 and WMA files from CDs, and there is now a USB port (1.3 Premium only) for you to plug in a thumb drive or a media player. The system also has a Bluetooth handsfree feature (1.3 Premium only) to pipe your phone calls through the car’s audio system.

The seats have also been redesigned with a new cover design (for 1.3 liter only) and for the premium versions now feature the ability for seat height adjustment up to 45mm.

The premium version also features a teh tarik hook at the back of the front passenger seat. All versions get an underseat tray under the front passenger seat.

The engines are unchanged. The lower end models use a 1.0 liter EJ-VE inline-3 DOHC engine with variable valve timing producing 58 horsepower at 6,000rpm and 88Nm of torque at 3,600rpm while the 1.3 liter models use the K3-VE inline-4 DOHC with variable valve timing producing 86 horsepower at 6,000rpm and 116Nm of torque at 3,200rpm.

And the following is the new pricing for the facelifted Myvi:

Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.0 SR M/T (Solid) RM38,924.10
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.0 SR M/T (Metallic) RM39,447.30
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Standard M/T (Solid) RM43,400.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Standard M/T (Metallic) RM43,900.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Standard M/T (Special Metallic) RM44,300.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Standard A/T (Solid) RM46,400.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Standard A/T (Metallic) RM46,900.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Standard A/T (Special Metallic) RM47,300.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Premium M/T (Solid) RM46,200.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Premium M/T (Metallic) RM46,700.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Premium M/T (Special Metallic) RM47,100.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Premium A/T (Solid) RM49,200.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Premium A/T (Metallic) RM49,700.00
Perodua Myvi Facelift 1.3 Premium A/T (Special Metallic) RM50,100.00

Interest rates are now apparently between 4.1% to 4.3% depending on loan period.

Batman TDK Poster

This is an original poster of latest Batman Movie: The Dark Knight.
For your info, Edison Chan, the Hong Kong actor/singer also play a 'tiny' role in this movie, so someone decide to edit the poster to slot in Edison Chan.

Now i present you the edited poster:

REALLY FUNNY.....i think it really is.....

Anyway, i've watched this movie and i like it alot. This is not a movie for kids...so kids, go watch your Batman anime, this movie is reserved for adults, and for adults who are sicked of Hollywood's Bing-Bang-Boom,Super Duper Spectacular Action Scene with rubbish plot, example: Mr & Mrs Smith, The Fantastic 4, Die Hard 4.0, Rainbow 4 and others.
This Batman is really different, although a bit dark.....gloomy.....not a comedy indeed.
So if you have not watch it, give it a try.....

Reverse parking into a parking bay is better

Here’s something I didn’t realise. The UK’s Institute of Advanced Motorists Limited is advocating reverse parking. The following are the benefits of reverse parking rather than entering your parking bay head-first:

  • Data shows it takes about 90 seconds for an average 5-year old car’s engine to warm up and reach its thermal efficiency. According to IAM, reversing out of a parking bay while the engine is cold takes up between 20-25 times more fuel than when it is warm. Apparently driving away forwards will help you save fuel. Could be related to the usually lower gear ratio of the reverse gear compared to the first gear.
  • The UK’s Highway Code actually encourages reverse parking. This is because reversing into a parking bay which remains static (just an empty piece of road/cement, nothing will suddenly fill it up) is safer than reversing out into a road/lane which may have constant traffic where you cannot see easily. Driving out forwards into the road makes it easier for you to look out for incoming traffic.
  • Reversing close to a wall may make it more difficult for thieves to break into your boot as there will not be enough space for them to work.
  • With the amount of crime these days, it is easier to get out of the parking bay as fast as possible driving forward as it is easier for you to see where you are going in case you have to leave as fast as you can for security reasons.
This is an exact copy and paste from an automotive blog, www.paultan.org

If any of you went to Singapore before, you might have noticed that Singaporeans like to park their car by reversing into the parking bay (almost 99%) whereas us Malaysian like to drive the car directly into the parking bay. Wondering why the way of thinking of Singaporeans and Malaysians are so much different in this area? Is it because when they were learning driving their instructor taught them this or what?

I'll try to do reverse parking in the future, not only safer but my reversing skill can be polished as well.

Trip to......??

Thursday, i had a meal at Burger King. "What's so special about this Burger King that become the first topic of this post?" Look carefully, which shopping do you think this is?

No idea? Let me show you the other picture as a tip.

One of the signboard in the building. Still no idea?

Not a shopping mall actually. The airport, KLIA. My friends needed to take their express bus at KLIA to go back Ipoh. So some of us decided to go with them to KLIA and have our dinner there. For those who stay in Subang or KL might think KLIA is very far, but for me , it only took 30 min to reach there by bus. How much? RM2.50 per way.

It's not a shopping mall so we need to find something to do to entertain ourselves.

Who is this? We don't bother.

We just make fun of him. One of my friends mimicking his action. How would you rate?

Here's another one.

This is a picture of our 1st PM. Tunku Abdul Rahman.

Look-a-like? This fellow in red said this picture gives an illusion of his C***K being S***KED. Sorry for being rude.

Then we decided to take some more serious photos.

Please ignore the person in Blue, he is just a staff.

This is not my first time fooling around in airport. I did this before with my other friends when i was still in Kuching. Kuching's 1st Starbucks was opened at Kuching Airport, so my friends liked to go to the airport just to drink some coffee and after the caffeine took their effect, they started to fool around.
